How do you add a score bug to a game video?

Use a score bug preset, enter the team names and scores, set the colors, and export a transparent WebM. Pin it to a top corner for the length of the clip, and cut to a full-frame leaderboard or final score card between plays.

Sports coverage is mostly information design. These presets pin a score bug, stack a leaderboard, face off a versus card, compare stats and close with a final score, all with your own teams and numbers.

Step by step

Pick by moment in the match
Score Bug sits in the corner during play. Versus Card opens the video with two names colliding, Stat Compare suits half time or post-match analysis, and Final Score closes it with a count up. Leaderboard fits tournaments and league standings rather than a single match.
Enter teams and numbers
On Score Bug, Labels hold the two team names, Values hold the two scores, and Subtitle fills the clock plate. Stat Compare uses Title and Subtitle for the teams, Labels for each stat, and Values in pairs, home then away, with Decimals for precision. Leaderboard bars size themselves from Values.
Export one clip per score
Score Bug's numbers and clock text are fixed for the clip and do not tick, so make one version for each score and cut between them at the moment of each goal. It defaults to 15 seconds, drops in and exits within that time, and can run to 60.
Split overlays from full cards
Keep Score Bug transparent and export WebM with alpha for CapCut or Resolve, or a PNG sequence for Premiere Pro and After Effects, because an opaque bug covers the play. For Versus Card or Final Score as a shot of their own, set a solid background and export MP4.
Cut them against the action
In CapCut, import each score's WebM to the same overlay track and butt the clips together at the goal. In Premiere Pro, import each PNG sequence with Image Sequence ticked, and set the rate under Interpret Footage. Leave Position at top-left unless your footage has a watermark there.

Amateur league highlights
A Sunday league highlight reel filmed from the touchline, with Score Bug updating between goals and Final Score closing the video in the team's own kit colors.
Tournament recaps
A gaming or chess club recap where Leaderboard slides in the standings after each round and bars show at a glance how far first place is ahead.

A promo for a boxing card or a cup semi-final, with Versus Card crashing two names together and Subtitle carrying the date and the time.

Three tips that make it look intentional

Keep the bug in one corner for the whole video; moving it breaks the illusion.
Abbreviate team names to three letters so the bug stays compact.
Save the full-frame card for the final whistle.
